Student Projects Internship Programme (SPIP) SPIP is a special programme targeting final year B.E/B.Tech, MCA, M.E/M.S students for their projects with internship. This programme is conducted every year for students and the recruitment process will be started in August first week by ethics Technologies. Students pursuing prefinal year are eligible to join this programme and the project duration will be accounted. SPIP objective The objective of this programme is to encourage students to use Open Source and Linux OS for their final year project to provide knowledge in Open Source & Linux technologies and fill-up the gap between the students & industries in Linux and Open Source technologies. Ethics Technologies will strongly believe that Open Source & Linux technologies will provide good job opportunities and even to create their own business which helps others too. The projects will be in Linux platform like Linux development, Software development on Linux OS, Linux kernel, Embedded Linux, Real time Linux and Android Kiosk/Mobile applications. The project topics will be listed out in the SPIP page of ethics Technology once the project mentors finalised the topics. But we also welcome the individual ideas if the project ideas is in Linux/Open Source platform or relevant and not depending upon any proprietary software's/tools or Operating Systems like Windows. We only believe and encourage the student's skills; Not their marks. Dont much mess about the marks and any one can apply for this programme from any discipline. SPIP details This programme is basically split into two sessions. (1) Linux practice session As the major students have less Linux OS knowledge and our major products/services are based on Linux and Open Source platform, we will provide onboard Linux learning opportunity for them. In order not to skip the internship working days we provide this training by off-mode i.e., students could take this session from their own place using their own resources like PC/Laptop,.etc . Once you apply for SPIP, You are perfectly eligible for preliminary training/Linux practice session. There is no barrier for this Linux practice session. The practice session is fully based on learning Linux OS and you will be practicing the Linux OS and its stuffs on your own Laptop/PC/your lab or any other from your place. You must send your weekly report to your mentor with appropriate file format. We will upload the practice report file later. You will be taking this session until your project will be finalised. Your project starting date will be assigned by your mentor once the project get finalised .After your completion of practice session, we will conduct a on-line test from Linux OS and Open Source technologies. Based upon your performance, you will opt you for project session. Otherwise you will be rejected. (2) Project session
Once you selected for a project session, Your Mentor will provide you remaining details like, project description, design details, project management tools, SVN,.etc. You should provide the Bonafide certificate from your College Department HOD to ethics technologies and you have to send the soft copy to your mentor. You could clarify about this with your Mentor in the practice duration. Based upon your test performance and your project skills, ethics Technologies will provide stipend upto Rs 3000/-(per month) during your project period. You can workout your project from our place (In Chennai, Tamilnadu) or from your place of interest. Please note: You must equip yourself if you choose your own work station. After successful completion of your project, we will provide the project completion certificate for you. If your performance is good, and also our requirement matches your skills, we will consider you for joining with Technologies. Selection procedure
Interested students can send their resume with covering letter to spip_AT_ethicstech_DOT_in with the subject line,"SPIP-2009/Your_degree/Your_discipline" for example, "SPIP-2009/BE/ECE" with mentioning your semester method, your project duration time and your details. We have given a sample covering letter format along with this. Please check it and prepare your covering letter accordingly. After we receive this application, we start our process and assign Mentors for the project. We will contact you with your Mentor details after the completion of SPIP date of submission. Please note that all the details which we mentioned in the covering letter are mandatory. Do not skip any one of the information. Last date of your CV submission along with your covering letter is August 14th 2009. General terms & Conditions * Final year students/pre final from B.E/B.Tech/MCA/M.E/M.S with any discipline can apply for SPIP. * You will be taking the Linux practice session from your own place. We will provide remote guidance * You must clear our on-line test on Linux & Open Source technologies at the end of your Linux practice session. Based on the test performance you will be selected for Project session. Otherwise you will be rejected. We will not issue any certificates for Linux practice session. * During the Linux practice session and Project session your mentor feed back is accountable and your discussion with mentors should be value addable to your project. Personal discussions are not allowed. Otherwise your internship will be terminated. * The offer with ethics Technologies will be available based on the requirements and performance basis.
